In 1982, I was posted to work in Singapore and took the opportunity to almost immediately purchase my first SLR camera, a Canon A1. With this I embarked upon my photographic journey.
For the next 2 years, as I grappled with my new passion, my images tended to be travel related with global opportunities, but focused particularly on East and South-East Asia.
Returning to the UK, and with a new family on the way, my photographic adventures waned and as work became more intense over the years, opportunities became more limited and inspiration challenged. Early retirement brought about an opportunity to address the status-quo and taking up the challenge, I joined Woking Photographic Society in 2008.
Unlike many photographers, I can't honestly say that I have developed a particular style. However, travel has been a focus along with nature - and particularly insect photography. I have found a small degree of success with these genres in club, county, national and international competitions. A selection of my favourite photos from this period and indeed the early days in Singapore are showcased here-in. I hope you enjoy viewing them!
